...database for shot- and editlists
BinTool is written for creating and editing shot- and editlists. It can be used as scripttool on set, as archiving- and databasetool or for preparing offline-editing in studio. BinTool is also useful to solve special problems while working with Bins.
The user can modify all entries of these lists directly by keyboard input or with standard edit functions:
Cut,Copy and Paste
Sort and Sift
Search and Replace
Timecode-,Track- and Tapemodify
All these functions are also available in a integrated macro-programming-language like the BASIC-language.
On user definable buttons and menus these macros are installable such as standard functions.
With more complex macros it is possible to convert one special file format into another.
BinTool can read and write a lot of file formats e.g.:
AVID-LogExchange
CMX-EDLs
SONY-EDLs
It is also possible to log new clips with a controlpanel which provides SONY seriel remote protocol or while reading timecode from any audiotrack or wireless from a camara on set.

The DDE-Log is available
BinTool provides the TC to other applications.
This is neither based on a DDE connection. With easy macros it is possible to insert the actuell timecode
at the current cursor position in a textapplication.
The DDE command set allows also to control the remote functions of the LogTool.
ddelog.txt contains informations about the DDE-commands.
The other way is that LogTool simulates keystrokes to other applications to type in the timecode.
